The Little Things

It's the little things that make living in Haiti so worthwhile. For instance, the other evening, Portia and I went for a walk with a group of children. They pointed out things in Creole, and I pointed them out in English.

"The sun doesn't sleep. He disappears over there, then comes up over there." States Fery of the sunset.

In this picture, we are trying to throw rocks through a small piece of wire. I made it through a couple times! Go me! Like I said, it's the little things.

  2. Good morning Paige,
Fery couldn't have described the sunset in a better way . . and last night when I saw the sun starting to disappear, I thought of you and Fery.

Jason is in town and we went to Tom's last night for a swim and BBQ. Great time and today we are headed for Winslow so Jason can see my sister and his dad.

Today was Taber's first day of school and he looked absolutely hansome. What a big boy. Have a great day and write when you can . . always love hearing from you. Miss you, Love, jan

  3. Danielle!

It is so good to hear from you. I am glad you decided to check it out too. I miss you so much, and not just your scissors, YOU! Glad things are normal with you. No news is better than bad news, right? When are you going on your cruise in October? You are going to stop on the opposite end of the country as me, but it would be nice to know when you are here! Love you!

    Jan,
Isn't that cute? It makes me happy that you were thinking of us- I know you do often.
I am glad to hear you are going to see Judy. Send her my love.
I heard Taber is not only the teacher's pet, but class clown as well- I wouldn't expect anything less!
I will e-mail you as soon as I get a spare moment. Miss you!
